1. Who we are
ObsidianMedia ("we", "us") is an on-demand print studio operated by Obsidian Ash LLC (Georgia, USA). You can reach us at support@obsidianash.com.
2. What we collect
- Images you upload. Photos, drawings, and layouts you submit for printing. These may include faces, children, or other personal content — we treat all uploads as private.
- Order details. Name, email, shipping address, and the print options you choose.
- Payment information. Processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Basic technical data. Browser type and pages visited, used only to keep the site working and improve it.
3. How we use it
- To produce and ship your prints, including preparing your free digital proof.
- To contact you about your order (confirmations, proofs, shipping updates).
- To comply with legal obligations (tax, fraud prevention).
We do not sell your personal information, use your images to train AI models, display your images publicly, or use them for marketing without your explicit written permission.
4. Image storage & retention
- Uploaded images are stored securely and accessed only by staff who prepare your order.
- Uploads from sessions that do not lead to an order are automatically and permanently deleted about 30 days after the session is created (an abandoned checkout may extend this slightly before the upload is removed).
- Images tied to a completed order are kept while we produce, ship, and may need to reprint it (for example, if it arrives damaged), and are deleted when you ask us to.
- To create your AI-generated portraits, the images you upload are sent to OpenAI's image API for processing. OpenAI does not use images submitted through its API to train its models, and we never use your images to train any AI models.
- You can request immediate deletion at any time by emailing support@obsidianash.com.
5. Sharing
We share data only with service providers needed to fulfill your order: our print/fulfillment partner, shipping carriers, and payment processor — each bound to use it solely for that purpose.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to opt out of any sale or sharing (we don't sell or share for advertising). Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
7. Children
Our service is for adults (18+). Parents may of course order prints of their children's photos and artwork; we never use such images for anything beyond fulfilling the order.
8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for the site to function. If we add analytics in the future, this policy and a consent banner will be updated first.
9. Changes
We'll post any changes here with an updated date, and email account holders about material changes.
